In Kurzeme region one of the most urgent social services is social rehabilitation – integration measures for children (including those with disabilities), besides the capacity and offer of daycare centres is not sufficient.
Day care centre Cimdins is one of two NGO – day care centres that in Kurzeme region is registered as such centre and provides relevant social services (also registered in official register as provider of social services).
The aim of the project is to promote the welfare of children and youth with special needs in Ventspils city and region through provision of such social services, that promote their integration in society.
Within the project it is planned to realized a set of complex activities that will promote more successful integration of project’s target group into society – innovative measures are planned (like development of work methodology) for social offices in local municipalities and practical events for the target groups. Such complex approach will help to improve social welfare of target group families. Besides project activities are planned to promote

development and improving of target group works skills not just to integrate them into society, but also to promote their involvement in labour market.
All activities are planned with aim to provide complex and sustainable solution of project problematic to the target groups – children and youth with special needs, staff and specialists of NGO, including volunteers.
As the main result of the activities will be developed innovative methodology for social offices of local municipalities for work with children and youth with special needs at their living places, provided social integration measures for these children and youth.
Project will last 12 months starting at April 1, 2015 and it will be realizes in Kurzeme region – Ventspils city and local municipality.
Activities will be carried out in cooperation with project partner – Social office of Ventspils local municipality.

Project results: Project lasted 12 months from May 1, 2015 and was realized in Kurzeme region – Ventspils city and local municipality.
Activities were carried out by Day care centre Cimdins (that is one of two NGO – day care centres that in Kurzeme region is registered as such centre and provides relevant social services) in cooperation with project partner – Social office of Ventspils local municipality.

Within the project a set of complex activities realized that promote more successful integration of project’s target group into society – innovative measures (development of work methodology for social integration of disabled children and youth) for social offices in local municipalities and practical events for the target groups (individually developed integrative social activities for 130 children and youth with special needs; support groups for 50 parents of these children and youth).
The main result of the project is an innovative methodology for social offices of local municipalities for work with children and youth with special needs at their living places, and approbation of this methodology – provided social integration activities for these children and youth.
