The project contributes to integration of national minorities and NGOs into Latvia`s community and to enchance the civic participation.
In the project Latvian language courses for representatives of national minorities and non-citizens will be provided, intercultural dialogue and integration of national minorities promoted, capacity of national minorities NGOs will be enhanced through promotion of cooperation, active engagement and civic participation.
The project is based on the transfer of experience and knowledge of the association „Balta Maja” to national minorities NGOs. More than 5 projects in cooperation with national minorities NGOs were realized, activities of which promoted intercultural dialogue.
The Project's activitieds will be carried out in Daugavpils, Rezekne and Livani district., as well as Jekabpils town and district.

The project will contribute to the achieving common goals and objectives of the „Projects programm of non-governmental organizations” and will promote development of a cohesive society according to goals of the support area No.2.

Project results: The aim of the project was the promotion of inclusion of people from national minorities and NGOs of minorities in Latvian society and involving them in civic collaboration processes.
The tasks set for the project have been realized in a full amount and the implementation of the project has ensured a significant contribution in achieving the goals set.
1) 100 representatives of national minorities have improved their knowledge during the Latvian language course;
2) Multi-cultural dialogue and integration of national minorities have been promoted by taking part in several public events. More than 1000 local inhabitants representing different minorities have taken part in the events;
3) The capacity of 4 NGSs of national minorities has been strengthened; their leaders have taken part in 8 training seminars, 2 trips of exchange of experiences and 1 event promoting the development. Collaboration of NGOs and active involvement in civic collaboration processes have been promoted;
The Project's activities was carried out in Daugavpils, Rezekne and Livani district., as well as Jekabpils town and district.
The results of the project:
1) A learning course of the Latvian language (120 lessons) was organized where 100 direct target group representatives - national minorities NGO representatives and activists have taken part thus raising the level of the knowledge of the Latvian language.
2) An integration course consisting of 100 direct target group representatives- national minorities NGO representatives and activists has been organized, which increased the knowledge about Latvian history, traditions and culture.
3) Interactive events/shows ‘’I love you Latvia because…’’ have been organized in 4 towns, 516 participants have taken part -including 333 representatives of national minorities, non-citizens. Introduction of the participants of the project in local society has promoted integration process, multi-cultural communication among participants of national minorities, has lessened ethnic discrimination.
4) 4 drama one-act plays have been staged in the Latvian language where the project participants- national minorities’ representatives from NGO have taken part. Thus practical usage of the Latvian language among the participants of national minorities has been promoted.
5) A two-day event ‘’Integration stage’’ has been organized in Rēzekne where the participants of the project -100 national minorities NGO representatives have taken part; 23 volunteers have helped to prepare and organize the event. 407 representatives of society and 150 local inhabitants have taken part in the event and they followed the flash mob action. The usage of the state language, multi-cultural dialogue have been promoted, understanding about the Latvian culture and traditions has been increased.
6) 8 trainings for 20 national minorities NGO leaders have been organized. The capacity of 4 national minorities NGOs has been raised.
7) 2 experience exchange events for 25 project organization leaders have been organized. Exchange of experience with 3 organizations of national minorities in Liepāja and 7 organizations in Lithuania have been organized. New experiences about other region and NGO activities of other country have been promoted, as well as new examples of good practice have been learned; collaboration with other NGOs has been promoted.
8) 25 leaders from 5 co-organizations have taken part in 1 event promoting collaboration.
9) 1 informative event about the start of the project and 2 informative events about the results of the project have been organized. The publicity and recognition of the project have been promoted.
10) The publicity of the project has been ensured by: formed and regularly activated separate projects in society’s homepage www.baltamaja.lv, 4 informative broadcasts have been made and shown on Latgale regional television about the activities of the project; 3 publications in Latvian and Russian have been prepared and printed in the regional newspapers; 5 informative advertisements in Russian, 10 press releases were prepared and sent. In all project activities project banner has been used; before the project activities the project informative poster has been used; 800 paper flags with the project information and logo have been used; 23 T-shirts with logo for the project work group and volunteers have been made. All publicity events have ensured the project publicity, promoted the information about the project activities to a wider society.
11) The following project issues have been prepared and widespread: informative issue “Es Latvijai” (“I stand for Latvia”) (500 copies), 4 informative postcards (800 p.); informative calendar/catalogue of the project member organizations (500 copies).
