The aim of the project is to expand the support system to victims of human trafficking with innovative services, to increase level of awareness amongst social workers and representatives of the NGO Coalition’s organisations, to develop interactive preventive activities for children and young people.
The target groups of the project are victims of human trafficking, young people as one of the biggest risk groups, persons with disabilities, relatives, friends, acquaintances of victims and potential victims; NGOs which are representing interests and rights of the previously mentioned groups; members, employees and volunteers of the NGO „Shelter „Safe house””.
The project will be implemented in Latvia, Estonia and Poland.
As a result of the project, the training manual for social workers will be developed and approbated in the local municipalities and trainings for the representatives of the NGO coalition. In addition, support group for the victims of human trafficking will be set up within the project. Innovative preventive activities will be developed for solving various social problems. The project will promote the voluntary work by creating a network of peer trainers.
The project will contribute to the provision of social services by decreasing the human trafficking problem in Latvia.

Project results: The aim of the Project was to expand the support system for victims of trafficking in human beings (ThB), educate social work specialists and NGO coalition platform for prevention of ThB activists, and develop interactive preventative measures to educate young people. The Project was implemented in Latvia, Estonia and Poland. The target group – victims of ThB were involved in improving the content of the support group; young people spread information among peers and local community by using the visual materials of the project; the Project activities were aimed at involving NGOs into the Coalition. ThB victims gained support which has developed resources of each one of them to continue supporting one another. The number of research done by young people has increased, NGO coalition organizations, members, employees and volunteer of the “Shelter “Safe House”” learned about ThB victim support and prevention from abroad. Partnership in the Project had a significant role as each partner gave their knowledge and skills to develop the competences of professionals and contribute to reducing ThB in Latvia.
During the Project: Support Group for Victims of ThB launched (12 persons took part); Anti-traficking infotrailer activities done in 39 schools, 1966 young people participated; Participation at the NGO festival “Jaunieši iesaistās” where 126 visitors introduced to ThB; Preventive activities implemented with 20 young educators involved; Five regional seminars with 141 participants organized; The NGO coalition platform for prevention of ThB with 12 NGOs involved and 34 activists educated; Quality Management System developed to provide services for victims of ThB (ISO 9001:2009 certificate acquired); Methodical guide on ThB cases for social workers developed.
