Within the project a youth movement will be developed, new members attracted, experience and knowledge from partner organisations transferred, NGO communication with the society promoted, skills of visual communication, and improvement of regional and national communication environment, involving Latvian and Russian youth living in Riga in NGO operation on the regional and national level.
The target group: young people, members and volunteers of the organisation, members of cooperation partners, young people from Latvian municipalities.

Project results: The aim of the project was encourage young people to think critically about their surroundings - whether that is media, political and social issues - and provide a platform for their participation in decision making.
Project target group, namely young people, were selected through competition in which young people from all Latvian regions participated. The selection criteria were: interests, motivation, and previous activities. 8 young people were selected from partner organizations. They were selected based on their previous volunteering activities, media skills, leadership skills and partner organization suggestions, to ensure that with their skills and experience these young people could attract even more local young people.
The project has provided a significant contribution to the objectives set initially:
There were 75 volunteers involved with the project activities
15 project implementing partners and members were trained
There were 5 exchange visits in Latvia and 3 international exchange visits
There were 2 summer camps held (in total 75 participants)
Created 4 TV and internet programs
The products of the project have reached 5000 young people - show "My first job", "Work / Unemployment", "Morality / immorality";
Released two electronic and two print magazines
Have improved communication with young people by involving them in different types of activities and offering internships within the NVO.
After the project has finished, the participants will continue to pass forward the knowledge they have gained during the project by organizing consultations on documentary cinema filmmaking. “Avantis” will carry on with putting the focus on important topics and issues for youth by inviting young people to participate with suggestions, as well as inviting them to create activities essential to themselves.
The project allowed to build strong partnership with four Latvian organizations, which resulted in project reaching out to a wider target audience - minority cultures living in Latvia, young people from low income families and underrepresented communities, young people from rural cities and surrounding areas. This would not have been possible without the involvement of these partner organizations, because they had had the previous links and connections to these youth groups.
