The aim of the project is implementation of the Strategy 2013–2015 of the Association "Latvian Rural Forum”, improving culture of participatory democracy in rural areas of Latvia.
The project will focus on culture of participatory democracy in rural regions of Latvia implementing resolution of the 1st Latvian Rural Communities Parliament and ensuring inclusion of the Latvian Rural Communities Parliament in the content framework of Latvia’s presidency of the EU Council, on expansion and strengthening of cooperation network of rural communities by promoting involvement of rural inhabitants in civil society and promoting their participation in elaboration of action policy and decisions-making processes. Good practice of sustainable elements will be disseminated and methodological support will be provided to local community initiatives and rural community resources will be identified.
The target group: NGO’s members, employees, volunteers.

Project results: The objective of the Action Plan was an implementation of the strategy 2013th - 2015th of the association "Latvian Rural forum" (LRF).
Results reached:
- Action plan for 2013, 2014 and 2015;
- The strategy 2013th - 2015th was changed considering the Resolution of the 1st Latvian Rural Parliament;
- Financial support for 4 projects – none is more than 50% of the organization’s budget;
- Member Memorandum updated the report about the results of the Memorandum;
- Participation in more than 15 events where LRF specialists were moderators.

The project was implemented in the territory of all Latvia.

In order to promote the culture of participative democracy in rural areas not only the resolution of Rural Parliament was implemented, but also its involvement in the narrative framework of Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union was ensured.
Results reached:
• Published Resolution of the Second Latvian Rural Communities;
• three days long the Second Latvian Rural Communities– quantitative measurements and the participation was bigger than the First one;
• LRF participates in organization of the international event of development questions;
• Regular Parliament Board meetings;
• LRF is active in 4 Latvian platforms, 4 international networks and more than 9 committees, working groups, boards;
• LRF has 70 member organizations – descriptions are published in LRF homepage;
• LRF is active in the social platforms – more than 500 followers in facebook.com, more than 400 draugiem.lv and more than 1100 followers in twitter.com;
• Review on best LEADER projects in 2013, 2014, competition and price for the best one;
• Community week 2013 and 2014 (262 participants) and Community games (70 participants);
• Local partnership theory and examples;
• Identified 3 new spheres of member activities: community energy, community tourism and development of local economy;
• 8 visits to communities and 8 Maps of Community Resources;
• 4 study programs and 8 methods for sustainable villages;
• Consultations on short supply chains and village development plans;
• Local Identity product homepage.
