The project will facilitate communication between administrative bodies and society, promote civic participation addressing social issues and enhance a dialogue with local politicians and NGOs.
The project’s aim is to strengthen the association’s capacity to promote development of the civil society.
Activities include consultancy work, seminars and other educational measures, organization of NGO idea fairs, attraction of new members and formation of new NGOs in the region.
The project will contribute to the promotion of volunteer work and understanding of the importance of socioeconomic processes in society and raise the level of knowledge of the principles of human security on the internet.

Project results: The aim of the Project was to strengthen institutional and human resources of non-governmental organizations in order to promote the development of civil society in Preili, Aglona, Varkava, Riebini and Livani districts. In order to promote the development participation democracy and civic society it was necessary to create favorable environment in Latvia, providing the availability of information, enlarging the knowledge and skills of inhabitants, as well as involving the society in creation, fulfilling and evaluation of policy.
12 organizations joined to the society "Preili NGO center" by the end of the project. All together 59 different NGOs took part in the activities of project. NGOs of Preili, Aglona, Livani, Varkava and Riebini districts have raised the education level and skills and gained new experience; school youth have been educated about civic society issues. 149 school students, 16 teachers, 65 local government representatives and deputies, 378 inhabitants of Preili, Aglona, Riebini, Varkava and Livani districts were involved in the project. In the framework of activity program given consultations and published informative NGO calendar of current events promoted the raising of institutional and human resources capacity of organizations and individuals, as well as the sustainability and effectivity of organizations' activity. From 2013 to 2015 in the territory of project activities there were 36 new non-governmental organizations created. There is motivation of separate individuals and inhabitant groups to involve in NGO work raised, in order to solve important issues for themselves and society, to improve their skills, to give their own intellectual contribution to the development of society. As a result of program activity the number of member organizations of society "Preili NGO center" has grown with 72 more persons. As a result of activity program Preili NGO Centre and Preili district partnership had signed 18 volunteer worker contracts. Project activities also promoted the formation of understanding of civic society among school youth. In the activity program framework there was a competition "NGO Erudite" was very popular, the competition allowed the youth to understand the importance of each person, working for society or showing their attitude to important activities and processes in society. Educating and teaching every member of society, forming new non-governmental organizations, co-working with local governments, social capital will be increased, which will be a good guarantee and basis for the development of civic society in Preili, Aglona, Livani, Varkava and Riebini districts.
