Project „Active Voluntary” is 12 month long project that starts un May, 2015 and will take place in Cesis, Latvia. Project aim group is children and kids, especially from social risk families. Project aim is to develop voluntary job as instrument for social inclusion, gender equality and for children and youth from social risk families integration in society. There are 4 main problems that we are going to solve:
1. Low amount of children and kids that are in organizations
2. Unemployment that is a result of lack of knowledge, skills and experience
3. Insufficient supply for children and kids from social risk families for useful summer holidays
4. Lack of knowledge about sexual and reproductive health
Main activities – more volunteer involvement, organizing voluntary activities, training of peer educators, non-formal lessons in schools about reproductive health, trainings for volunteers and teachers about digital methods, creative thinking and improvisational theater techniques and Youth house renovation so we can do activities.

Project results: Youth NGO “Youth for City – City for Youth” has finishes 12-month long project “Active Voluntary”. Project aim was to develop voluntary work as instrument for social inclusion, gender equality and for children and youth from social risk families integration in society. Looking back on the project we can say – we have reached the aim!

Project has finished and we are happy to look back at what we have done and receive! Throughout the project there have been more than 70 youngsters who were involved in planning and carrying out the project for more than 1000 children and youth! For many youngsters this was the first opportunity to go to the sponsors, to be a leader and take care of some activities, to plan a budget and to acquire new knowledge and skills that is useful doing voluntary work in organizations and in everyday life. This was a special project – we carry out a Youth day with a record number of participants, many youngsters have get new knowledge in trainings about digital methods and creativity, about reproductive health and in improvisational theatre workshop.

We are very happy for our project partner – Cesis Children and Youth centre – because without them the project wouldn`t be that good. Thanks for knowledge, materials, comfortable place to carry out bigger activities, for wonderful ideas and support. We are sure that our cooperation will continue and we will do great things together!
