Children with behavioral and learning disabilities don’t get a quality education and will not be able to complete in the labor market, exposing them to social exclusion in the future.
The objectives of project: To promote prosperity in Jelgava Local Municipality and Ozolnieki, providing innovative Support Package implementation of 5-11 year-old children from disadvantaged groups and their families to reduce social inequality and integration into society.
The project will be implemented in 13 educational establishments.
Activities:
• 2 camps during the summer holidays ,
• 19 socially corrective excursions during the school year,
• 6 Montessori toolkit purchase and use to develop students' ability,
• Mobile support unit regularly work with 19 children groups, their teachers and parents;
• 25 teachers get training about how to work with children with behavioral disorders.
The project target group: 290 children, 130 families with risk of social exclusion and 25 teachers.
Project results: This project was targeted for children with behavioral and learning disabilities. Because they don’t get a quality education and will not be able to complete in the labor market, exposing them to social exclusion in the future.
The aim of project: To promote prosperity in Jelgava Local Municipality and Ozolnieki, providing innovative Support Package implementation of 5-11 year-old children from disadvantaged groups and their families to reduce social inequality and integration into society. The aim has been fully achieved shown provide innovative Support Package: effective work with teachers, children and their families.
The project has been implemented in 13 educational establishments. After project implementation, all educational establishments in both municipalities have possibility to use Marte Meo therapeutics support for teachers to work with children groups or parents. This support is financed by municipality.
The results of project has been fully achieved:
• Implemented two camps during the summer holidays with a relaxing therapeutic classes for 50 children,
• There have been 19 social corrective or social excursions, 306 children participated;
• Conducted Montessori material acquisition (6 sets) and use of developing pupils' abilities, benefited 193 children,
• Mobile support units regularly work with teachers and children groups - made 332 video recordings and their analysis, used Marte Meo method;
• Developed 12 methodologies for work with parents groups, occurred in the 90 measures, 134 parents attended.
• 26 teachers trained in work with children with behavioral disorders; 19 teachers introduce with Marte Meo method; 18 educators familiar with the methods how to use Montessori materials in daily teaching process.
During this project was created methodologies for work with parents groups, used Marte Meo method and Video "Marte Meo method as a support for the teacher". Both materials were issued to all final seminar participants.
The project target group: 306 children, 133 families with risk of social exclusion and 37 teachers. The target group was selected before project, based to their motivation letters. The main benefit for teachers and parents are knowledge and skills to support any children in their development.
The project has contributed to the growth of welfare since created 3 workplaces, implemented complex support measures to reduce the risk of social exclusion of children.
The project has contributed to the development of active citizenship since young people involved in voluntary work.
