The project's aim is to elaborate, approbate and introduce the approach of “psychosocial systematic social work” in work with families with children in daily social work practice at social services and other social service institutions.
Within the scope of the project it is planned to elaborate and implement “psychosocial systematic social work” training programme, approbate the systematic psychosocial approach in long-term practice with families and children, to perform information distribution and publicity measures.
As a result of the project social employees will be educated in psychosocial systematic work and regional families subject to social risk will receive a new social service, a methodology manual will be published, regional presentation seminars will be implemented, a professional blog will be created.
Target group: families with children and NGO employees.
Project results: Goal of project was to create and practise new social work approaches for Latvia in counselling of systemically approached in social work field.
Target group: 50 social risk families with children and 14 social workers who work with families
Place of realisation: Zemgale - Tukums region and Dobeles region, Kurzeme - Kuldiga region, Saldus region, Ventspils region, Talsi region and Roja region, Jurmala and Riga
Project was realised by 7 partners of regional social services.
Main activities and results:
1. was created and delivered educational – training programme (224 hours) for social workers in field of families, supported by professional supervision;
2. was educated 14 professional social workers in systemically social work and counselling;
3. new practise was probated in field, new services was delivered for 50 families as 10 session counselling “face to face” or 30 hours groups sessions;
4. was created blog to referring on project process and results: http://socialaisdarbs.blogspot.com, 7400 visits during the project term;
5. We made several meeting with regional organizations of social services and Ministry of Welfare of Latvia;
6. All outcomes of practise was organized as reflection on “case study”, tool, as well as delivered into handbook and blog as stories;
7. Was created and delivery 3 regional seminars, participated by 115 professionals of social work or top managers of social services;
8. Was created and disseminated handbook by 200 copies, in all Latvia.
9. 12 professionals will continue to deliver new approaches in daily work of social work practise.
