The project’s aim is to promote social integration of children and young people subjected to social exclusion risks, reducing social inequality, ensuring gender equality awareness and overall social inclusion.
The target group is children and young people exposed to social exclusion and poverty risks, their families, NGOs representing their rights and interests. The project activities are focused on obtaining informal education and acquiring new knowledge and skills, emphasizing the role of education in young people’s future, and promoting mutual interaction both among peers and between generations.
Experience exchange events will take place: staging of Mozart`s comic opera „Bastien and Bastienne”, a creative projects contest „I and my native land”, a series of classes for children „Open the world to chances and skills”, seminars about children`s and young people`s rights and opportunities in various areas of life, discussions about gender equality topics; a mini-festival „Popular together with a friend!”, campaign „Breathe GREEN!”.

Project results: The project’s aim was to promote social integration of children and young people at social exclusion risks, reducing social inequality, ensuring gender equality awareness and overall social inclusion.
It was necessary to find new innovative ways for solving children and youth social problems by raising and developing their life quality, promoting Latvia’s bonds with processes in the world.
The target group was 145 children and 150 young people exposed to social exclusion and poverty risks, 20 families with children, 130 persons with disabilities, 9 NGOs representing their rights and interests.
The project activities are focused on obtaining informal education and acquiring new knowledge and skills, emphasizing the role of education in young people’s future, and promoting mutual interaction both among peers and between generations.
The project was implemented in Riga, Preiļi, Jelgava, Liepāja, Oslo.
Project results:
1. Experience exchange between Latvian and Norway organisations developed the cooperation in international level, promoted good praxis transfer, raised social work skills and strengthened civil society.
2. Staged W.A.Mozart’s opera “Bastien and Bastienne”.
3. Published calendar and developed interactive game „Breath Green”.
4. A series of classes for children „Open the world to chances and skills”, made documental film „Me and My Motherland”.
6. Seminars about children`s and young people`s rights and opportunities in various areas of life.
7. Discussions about gender equality topics.
8. A mini-festival „Popular together with a friend!”.
9. Performed a special lift - lift installation RLS of ensuring that people with disabilities access to the house of the premises where the various cultural, educational, etc. measures within the project and beyond.
The Latvian Society in Norway provided opportunity to acquire additional knowledge and skills about the corresponding work outside Latvia to improve the RLS and its partners work with the social castaway risk and poverty subjected people, participation in decision making processes, could successfully work and represent the interests of the NGOs working in social, educational, culture spheres and in the national planning politics.
Due to the experience got in the discussion and seminars in Norway, that took place in all Latvian regions, there was an opportunity to show good praxis examples.
In the framework of the project was strengthened cooperation of the LSN not only with the RLS, but also with other project partners, as a result work at several international common projects was started, ensuring wider cooperation in long-time period. In these projects wider participation of Norway partners is planned ensuring several activities in Norway.
The financing was not given to the LSN.
